Department of Employment opens work-permit renewals for Lao, Myanmar and Vietnamese workers from 8 September 2026

The Department of Employment, Ministry of Labour, has opened applications to renew work permits for Lao, Myanmar and Vietnamese workers from 8 September 2026. FET summarises the key points for member associations and employers.

• Workers whose permits expire on 11 December 2026 can extend for one year, to 11 December 2027
• Apply and pay by 11 December 2026 via eworkpermit.doe.go.th (application fee 100 baht, permit fee 900 baht)
• Prepare the passport, medical certificate, insurance evidence and a power of attorney if the employer files on the worker's behalf
